What makes a person qualified for Brahman-knowledge, and why are intellectual prowess or extensive scriptural reading insufficient on their own?

📖 Chapter 50

As detailed in Chapter 50, the primary qualification for attaining Brahman-knowledge is not intellectual might but faith. A person is considered qualified if they follow the words of the scriptures with the sincere faith of a believer. The text explicitly states that discourse, accepting many Vedas, genius, or the retention of book meanings are not the key. This is because the world is a delusion to those with 'perverse vision,' and without the proper qualification of faith, the Brahman-principle remains difficult. For the qualified believer, however, it becomes very easy. This suggests that the path is one of faithful application rather than mere academic or intellectual accumulation of facts about spirituality.
