What made the mosque where Sai Baba lived so unique compared to a traditional mosque?

📖 Chapter 7

The mosque where Sai Baba lived was highly unusual because it incorporated numerous elements typically found in a Hindu temple. Chapter 7 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra explains this paradox in detail. While it was a mosque, it contained a sacred fire (Dhuni) that burned day and night. Inside the mosque, there was the ringing of bells and blowing of conches, the grinding of grain, constant Bhajan (devotional singing), food distribution, and the ritual washing of feet for worship. Furthermore, the text mentions a specially made Tulsi Vrindavan, an altar for the holy basil plant, was present in the assembly hall. As Chapter 7 points out, these activities and items made people question how he could be considered a Muslim.
