What leads an individual to be trapped in the cycle of rebirth, and how can they break free?

As detailed in Chapter 37, the primary cause for being trapped in the eternal cycle of birth and death, or Samsara, is ignorance. Specifically, it is the deluded belief that the "Parabrahman is different from me." This knowledge of difference subjects a soul to the endless loop of death following birth and rebirth following death. The path to breaking free is also outlined. A person who offers every action to God, even in a fleeting moment of life, can attain the place of fearlessness. Furthermore, by crossing the "nooses of death"—adharma, ignorance, anger, and hatred—one enters a divine state beyond this cycle.
