What kind of people came to see Sai Baba, and what did they hope to gain from their visit?

People from all walks of life with a wide variety of intentions came for Sai Baba's darshan. As described in Chapter 14, a single opinion on him was rare. Some came with a pure feeling of devotion in their hearts. Others came to test him, wanting proof of his sainthood. Many came with worldly desires, praying for long life, wealth, property, sons, and uninterrupted power. A strange and profound aspect of Baba's style was that even those who initially came to mock Him would often have their negative intellect burned away and find themselves becoming devoted at His feet.
