What is the true definition of 'heaven' according to Chapter 37, and how does it contrast with a place of sensual pleasure?

📖 Chapter 37

Chapter 37 redefines heaven not as a physical location but as a state of consciousness. The true heavenly world is the Vairaj, or the Cosmic Being itself—a state free from all mental grief, disease, worry, and sorrow. In this divine state, there is no fear of death or old age, and the soul moves about completely fearless, beyond the duality of 'do's and don'ts.' This is contrasted sharply with the conventional idea of heaven as a place for sensual enjoyment. The text argues that such pleasure is the same whether experienced by Indra in a celestial garden or a donkey in a dung-heap. It dismisses the desire for a heaven attained by merit, as it is temporary and lacks the eternal value found in realizing one's true, fearless Self.
