What is the story of the Yogi who visited Sai Baba with doubts about his diet, as told in Chapter 23?

📖 Chapter 23

Chapter 23 recounts the story of a practitioner of Yoga who, despite being well-versed in the Yoga Shastras, could not achieve Samadhi. He came to see Sai Baba, hoping the 'King of Yogis' could help him. However, his faith wavered when he saw Baba eating simple bread with onions, which he considered inappropriate. A strong doubt arose in his mind about Baba's capabilities. As the chapter explains, the omniscient Sai Baba immediately perceived this unspoken thought and remarked to Nanasaheb Chandorkar that only those with strong digestion should eat onions. Hearing this, the Yogi was startled, realizing Baba knew his innermost thoughts. His doubt vanished, he surrendered with true devotion, and he left with Baba's blessings, his mind at peace.
