What is the story of the little girl Amani and her interactions with Sai Baba in Chapter 29?

📖 Chapter 29

To illustrate the nature of Baba's unpredictable giving, Chapter 29 introduces the story of a young girl named Amani. She was a three-year-old, described as the naked child of a devotee named Kondaji. Every day after the morning meal, she would approach Baba as he sat near the dhuni in the masjid. Holding an open tin box, she would sit on her haunches, place the box in Baba's hands, and say "Baba, rupees, rupees!" The chapter highlights Baba's great affection for children; he would kiss Amani, caress her hair, and hold her to his chest. However, it also points out that while Baba was showing her affection, Amani's mind was focused solely on getting rupees.
