What is the story of Bhagwantrao Kshirsagar and how did Sai Baba remind him of his duties?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 4

The story of Bhagwantrao Kshirsagar, as recounted in Chapter 4, illustrates how Sai Baba guided his devotees back to their spiritual duties. Bhagwantrao's father was a great devotee of Vitthal and a friend of Baba's. After his father's death, Bhagwantrao neglected the family traditions; the worship and food offerings (Naivedya) to the household idol of Vitthal ceased, and even the annual Shraddha, or death anniversary rites, were skipped. When Bhagwantrao came to Shirdi, Baba revealed that he had drawn him there because of this neglect. Baba stated, "He never offers food (Naivedya); he keeps me hungry too. He keeps Vitthal hungry too." By framing the neglect this way, Baba personally reminded Bhagwantrao of his responsibilities and successfully put him back on the path of worship.
