What is the spiritual significance of the Dhuni, the sacred fire that Sai Baba kept burning, and the Udi produced from it?

📖 Chapter 33

According to Chapter 33, the sacred fire, or Dhuni, that Sai Baba kept constantly burning served a profound spiritual purpose. He would feed it with firewood, and the resulting sacred ash, known as Udi, was distributed to devotees. The deeper significance of this practice is to illustrate that the entire visible universe is as transient as ash. Chapter 33 explains that our bodies are like wood, destined to experience life's joys and sorrows, and will ultimately become ash when those experiences are exhausted. By giving Udi, Baba provided a constant reminder of this impermanence, urging devotees to remember that Brahman alone is the ultimate reality.
