What is the significance of the Ramphal and Sitaphal fruit analogy in understanding Baba's spiritual guidance?

📖 Chapter 19

The fruit analogy presented in Chapter 19 is highly significant for understanding Baba's practical spiritual guidance. The Ramphal (Bullock's heart fruit) represents the path of Knowledge (Jnana), which is described as superior in sweetness but only if it ripens perfectly on the tree with its stem. This requires immense patience and skill, and there is a 'fear of falling,' meaning a practitioner of Jnana must be vigilant and cannot afford negligence. On the other hand, the Sitaphal (Custard apple) represents the path of Devotion (Bhakti). It is described as juicy, sweet, and requiring very little labor to enjoy. By using this comparison, Baba taught that while Jnana is a high path, Bhakti is a more accessible, safer, and sweeter means for the common person to break the bonds of worldly existence.
