What is the significance of the flags mentioned in the story of Damu Anna?

📖 Chapter 25

The flags are a central part of a significant annual tradition in Shirdi. According to Chapter 25, two large new flags are taken out in a procession during the Ram Navami festival. One of these flags was provided by Damu Anna, and the other by the Nimonkars. This was not a one-time event; it was a regular vow that Damu Anna fulfilled for many years with "uninterrupted love and devotion." The procession would begin at the house of Kondaji the carpenter and, with musical accompaniment, the flags would be carried and eventually tied to the two ends of the Masjid. This act represents a public and consistent display of Damu Anna's faith and commitment.
