What is the significance of performing a Parayan, and are all biographies suitable for this practice?

Performing a Parayan, or a devotional reading over a set period like a Saptah (seven days), is a significant form of Guru service. However, as Chapter 0 clarifies, not all works are suitable for this purpose. While poets like Shri Dasganu Maharaj have written about saints, their biographies are often brief, spanning only a few pages and are not comprehensive, making them less ideal for a detailed Parayan. For a meaningful Parayan that fosters community study, a detailed, poetic, and comprehensive Guru biography is necessary for devotees to immerse themselves in the teachings.
