What is the significance of Appasaheb's promise to give ten Rupees, and how did a Fakir become involved?

📖 Chapter 33

Appasaheb Kulkarni had made a verbal promise, saying that if he had been present at a certain time, he would have given ten Rupees to the Fakir (Sai Baba). However, he later forgot or hesitated. As Chapter 33 explains, a stranger Fakir, implied to be Baba in disguise, later came to him. This was seen as a pretext for Baba to collect the promised Dakshina. When the Fakir asked for the money, Appasaheb was suspicious and did not immediately offer the full amount he had promised, even though he had six Rupees nearby. The story highlights the human tendency to make verbal promises but falter when it comes to acting on them, serving as a lesson on the importance of fulfilling one's word to the Guru.
