What is the 'Satya-Sai vow' mentioned in Chapter 13, and how did it originate?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 13

The 'Satya-Sai vow' was a new tradition of worship initiated by the Patil out of profound gratitude for his miraculous cure. As explained in Chapter 13, this practice was modeled after the traditional Satyanarayan vow. After his healing, the Patil began performing this vow every Thursday. Instead of reading the Satyanarayan story, the Patil would read the three chapters about Sainath from Das Ganu's book, the 'Bhaktalilamrut.' He considered these chapters to be the 'Satya-Sai story.' The vow involved the same abundance of offerings and celebration as the traditional one, establishing an equivalence between Narayan and Sai. This practice started by the Patil eventually became a custom in his village.
