What is the root cause of the cycle of birth and death (Samsara) as explained in the Satcharitra?

Chapter 37 explains that the cycle of worldly existence, or Samsara, is perpetuated by a fundamental ignorance. This ignorance manifests as the deluded perception of difference, where an individual believes, 'Parabrahman is different from me; I am not that.'
