According to the preface in Chapter 0, studying and performing Parayans (devotional readings) of a detailed Guru biography is a form of Guru service. The Sadguru accepts this service from devotees through books. When a writer creates a biography, they perform this service, and when other devotees study it, the writer gains the merit of serving God in humanity (Jan-Janardan).
