What is the relationship between knowledge and liberation according to the teachings?

According to the teachings presented in Chapter 50, there is a direct and essential link between knowledge and liberation. The text explicitly states the Vedic theorem, "Only from knowledge comes liberation," and calls this statement unassailable. This knowledge, or 'Jnana', is the understanding that one's true nature is the pure, enlightened, and liberated Soul. However, Chapter 50 also introduces a crucial condition, noting that "without the destruction of sinful karma, the dawn of knowledge is impossible."
