What is the relationship between dissolving the ego and receiving divine assistance, as explained by Sai Baba?

📖 Chapter 2

Sai Baba explains a profound spiritual principle in Chapter 2 regarding the ego. He states that for Him to fully assist a devotee, the devotee must first dissolve their ego and surrender it completely at His feet. This act of surrender is the key to unlocking divine grace. Baba says, "To one who acts thus in life, I give full assistance." He elaborates on this by promising that when the ego is dissolved and no trace of it remains, He Himself will enter the devotee with 'I-ness' and perform the work, making the person merely a pretext or instrument for the divine will. This concept was central to His instruction for writing His biography.
