What is the process for achieving Self-realization and attaining the eternal state?

The path to the eternal state, as described in Chapter 37, involves a complete and total surrender to the Guru with one's body, speech, and mind. The decisive intellect, which gives shelter to desires, must also be merged and made entirely subordinate. Ignorance, Maya, desire, and action are the main characteristics of death and bondage. When these cease, the bondage is pacified. The text states that when the intellect dissolves, the dawn of the Self occurs instantly. Once all bondage is destroyed through this process of surrender and cessation of desire, the Self manifests effortlessly, and one attains the eternal state.
