What is the primary story recounted in Chapter 5 of the Sai Satcharitra concerning a Guru and a disciple?

📖 Chapter 5

Chapter 5 of the Sai Satcharitra details a significant event involving Devidas, a wise man considered a Guru in Shirdi, and a Fakir. Devidas, who had settled in Shirdi twelve years before Baba's arrival with the wedding party, engaged in a scriptural debate with this Fakir and defeated him. The Fakir fled but returned many years later, his delusion of being Sai's Guru having been dispelled. As the chapter explains, he bowed to Sainath and became pure through repentance. Baba, in turn, treated him with respect, demonstrating the profound lesson: "His Guruship to him, and my discipleship to me." This entire account, which highlights humility over pride, was made known by the great devotee Mahalsapati.
