What is the primary obstacle to spiritual realization described in chapter 37, and what is the remedy?

📖 Chapter 37

The primary obstacle is identified as the firm 'body-consciousness,' encapsulated by the thought, "Body is me, this is my wealth." Chapter 37 calls this the "knot in the heart" and the dwelling place of sorrow, which perpetuates the cycle of worldly existence rooted in darkness. The prescribed remedy to cross this ocean of sorrow is Brahma-Jnana, or the knowledge of Brahman. This knowledge is presented as the pure remedy and the means to all attainment. Attaining this realization removes all evils and helps one reach the heart's desired goal, which is the ultimate bliss of Brahman, allowing the knower of the Self to cross all sorrow.
