What is the fundamental difference between the paths of Shreya and Preya as explained in Chapter 17?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 17

Chapter 17 of the Sai Satcharitra explains that Shreya, the Path of Salvation, and Preya, the Path of Worldly Joy, are as opposite as light and darkness. Shreya is described as the form of discrimination and pure Knowledge (Vidya), leading one toward their true self-interest. In contrast, Preya is the form of ignorance (Avidya), attracting those obsessed with worldly objects, wealth, and status. The chapter notes that while the wise are not deluded by Preya, the ignorant do not like Shreya. A person whose mind runs toward Preya ultimately falls away from their true purpose.
