What is the distinction between the pure, target Brahman and the expressed, qualified Brahman?

📖 Chapter 50

The text draws a clear line between these two aspects of Brahman. As explained in Chapter 50, the pure, target Brahman is described as 'extremely pure and clean' and the very form of Consciousness (Chinmatra). It is entirely separate and different from the expressed world. In contrast, the qualified, or 'shabal', Brahman is Brahman that has become associated with Avidya (ignorance). This qualification is what allows it to be named 'Sat' (Existence) and become 'graspable by the intellect.' Therefore, one must use the power of instruction to move aside the veils of ignorance to perceive the pure Brahman, which is the ultimate reality.
