What is the difference between true knowledge (Vidya) and ignorance (Avidya) according to the Satcharita?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 50

According to Chapter 50, the fundamental difference lies in one's core attitude and self-perception. True knowledge, or 'Vidya,' is the eternal pulse of realizing 'I am Brahman,' the pure, enlightened, and liberated soul. It is the understanding that 'This Soul is Brahman' and 'Consciousness is Bliss.' In contrast, ignorance, or 'Avidya,' is described as the attitude of thinking, 'I am a sinner, unfortunate, luckless.' As Chapter 50 explains, from the former comes liberation from bondage, while from the latter comes the state of bondage itself. This entire dynamic is influenced by Maya, the power of illusion.
