What is the difference between true knowledge (Vidya) and ignorance (Avidya) as explained in the Satcharita?

According to Chapter 50, the distinction between true knowledge (Vidya) and ignorance (Avidya) is fundamental to one's spiritual state. True knowledge, or 'Vidya', is the realization and constant pulse of "I am Brahman," the understanding that the self is the pure, enlightened, and liberated Soul. It is the treasure of 'Consciousness is Bliss.' In stark contrast, 'Avidya' is the mine of ignorance, characterized by a negative self-perception and attitudes such as, "I am a sinner, unfortunate, luckless." The text explains that from one of these powers of Maya comes the state of bondage, while from the other comes liberation.
