What is Sai's guidance on overcoming personal ego and pride?

According to the teachings, the path to overcoming ego is through complete and humble surrender to the Guru. The text advises surrendering the mind, with all its thoughts and doubts, at Sai's feet. Furthermore, all power of action should also be surrendered to Sai, and one should only act as he commands. Chapter 27 explains that if you can work without ego by placing the entire burden on him, you will achieve perfect success. This is because the individual soul, or 'Jiva,' is described as knowing little due to ego, whereas the egoless 'Shiva' is all-knowing, and the Guru is the only bridge between them.
