What is duality according to Baba's teachings, and why is it considered a problem?

According to the philosophical teachings found in Chapter 14, the intellect that establishes duality is described as pure ignorance. Duality, or manifoldness, is the belief that things are separate—for example, the idea that 'I am different, and people are different.' This mindset is considered a problem because it causes the mind to get stuck in errors and delusion, and by holding onto this sense of separateness, one is trapped in the cycle of birth and death. The teachings advise that to find peace, one must overcome this illusion of difference.
