What is described as the root cause of worldly suffering, and what is the prescribed method to eliminate it?

The source material in Chapter 37 identifies ignorance, or Avidya, as the root cause of all suffering. It is this ignorance that establishes the perception of manifoldness, creating the bonds of worldly attachments and constant worry. To counter this, one must acquire knowledge, or Vidya, through the scriptures and by surrendering to a Guru. When ignorance is removed through this process, the knowledge of manifoldness vanishes, the cycle of birth and death ceases, and one is no longer subject to the sufferings of worldly existence. This science of oneness is the ultimate path to liberation.
