What instructions did Sai Baba give for writing his life story?

When granting permission to compile his stories, Sai Baba gave very specific instructions. As detailed in Chapter 2, He stated that the author was merely a pretext and that He Himself would write His own story to fulfill the devotee's wish. The key condition was for the author to dissolve his ego and surrender it at Baba's feet. Baba promised full assistance to one who acts this way, saying, "When the ego is dissolved, no trace of it remains. Then I myself shall enter with 'I-ness' and write with my own hand." He also encouraged the author to continuously remember the stories, whether at home or elsewhere.
