What happened when the Sanyasi returned to Dahanu about a month after being turned away?

When the Sanyasi returned to Dahanu approximately a month later, his purpose was different and it surprised Dev. According to Chapter 40, Dev saw the Sanyasi alight from a tonga and felt doubtful about his early return. Instead of asking for a donation again, the Sanyasi approached Dev and stated, "I haven't come for money; today we want a meal." He also mentioned he had two companions with him. Seeing it was mealtime, Dev graciously welcomed the request, telling the Sanyasi to consider his home his own and inviting the three of them to eat at noon.
