What happened when the sannyasi Vijayananda first encountered Sai Baba and his devotees in Shirdi?

As narrated in Chapter 31, when the sannyasi Vijayananda arrived in Shirdi, he first met Swami Somdevji of Haridwar. After learning from the Swami about the hardships of the journey to Mansarovar, he became dejected. He then went for Sai Baba's darshan and prostrated at His feet, which made him very pleased. However, Baba's own disposition suddenly changed. He looked at the assembly and instructed them to 'send away this sannyasi.' Being new and unaware of Baba's ways, Vijayananda was distressed by this but remained seated, watching the service.
