What happened when the author was brought before Sai Baba during the evening Aarti, and what did Baba ask him?

During the evening Aarti, as Jog was waving the Pancharti, Madhavrao (Shama) had the author sit directly facing Sai Baba. As described in Chapter 19, Baba, the image of peace, then asked Shama what 'Dakshina' or offering he had brought. When Shama offered a bow and fifteen rupees on the author's behalf, Baba was more interested in the conversation they just had. He insisted they recount their discussion in detail, asking, 'What things did you discuss just now? Tell it all to me.' This set the stage for the author to narrate a story he had just heard.
