What happened when Kashiram was attacked by robbers, and why was a bundle of sugar so important to him?

📖 Chapter 0

While returning from the Naur market, Kashiram was attacked by Bhil robbers. The source material in Chapter 0 explains that he did not initially resist as they took some of his belongings. However, he fought back fiercely when the thieves tried to snatch a small bundle he was carrying. This bundle was extremely dear to him not because it contained treasure, but because it held powdered sugar. A saint named Janakidas Baba had advised him to feed sugar to ants, and Kashiram was dedicated to this practice. In the ensuing fight, he killed two thieves before being struck unconscious with an axe. His deep faith is shown when he later refused hospital care, insisting on being taken to Shirdi.
