After the tiger died, the darveshis, who were sad about losing their means of livelihood, asked Sai Baba what to do. As detailed in Chapter 31, Maharaj comforted them, explaining that the tiger was very meritorious and had attained supreme bliss. He instructed them to bury the tiger beyond a nearby hillock, near the Nandi statue at Shankara's temple, to ensure it received a good end and was freed from all bondage. Beyond the immediate salvation of the tiger, its death held a deeper, more somber significance. The text notes that this event was a memorable omen, as it occurred exactly seven days before Sai Baba Himself left His physical body and was placed upon the earth.
What happened to the tiger after it died at Sai's feet, and did its death have any other significance?
