What happened to Sai Baba's physical body right after he passed? Was there a disagreement about the final rites?

Following Baba's passing, there was significant deliberation and disagreement about what should be done with his body. As described in Chapter 43, it took twenty-six hours of discussion among disciples and villagers. One group argued that Hindus should not touch the body and it should be taken to a Muslim cemetery. Another faction, including Khushalchand and Amir Shakkar, wanted to build a beautiful tomb over it in the open. Ultimately, the matter was settled by adhering to Baba's own words, "Let this body stay in the Wada," a position firmly held by Patil Ramachandra, the village official.
