Kashiram was attacked by thieves who mistakenly believed a bundle of powdered sugar he carried was treasure. As detailed in Chapter 0, he fought back bravely, killing two thieves with a dropped sword before being struck with an axe and left for dead. At the very same time in Shirdi, Maharaj became extremely agitated, shouting and swearing. Devotees present understood this behavior as Maharaj's way of protecting a devotee in grave danger. Kashiram miraculously survived, refused hospital treatment, and insisted on being taken to Shirdi, where he was healed by Maharaj's grace. This incident demonstrates how the Savior protects against the killer.
What happened to Kashiram when he was attacked by thieves, and how did Maharaj intervene?
