What happened to Kashiram after he was left for dead by the robbers, and was his bravery ever recognized?

After being struck by an axe and left for dead, Kashiram did not die. Chapter 0 explains that after some time, he regained consciousness. Due to his complete faith in Maharaj, he refused to go to a hospital and insisted on being taken to Shirdi. Once there, Madhavrao Deshpande treated him under Maharaj's direct instructions, and by Maharaj's grace, his health improved and he recovered. In recognition of his courageous act of fighting off the thieves, Kashiram received a sword as a gift from the Bombay government. He went on to live for some years after this incident.
