What happened to Kashiram after he was attacked, and was his bravery ever acknowledged?

After being struck by an axe and left for dead by thieves, Kashiram eventually regained consciousness. His faith in Sai Maharaj was so profound that he refused to go to a hospital and insisted on being taken to Shirdi. Chapter 0 states that upon arriving in Shirdi, he was treated by Madhavrao Deshpande under Maharaj's instructions and, by Maharaj's grace, he made a full recovery. His bravery was indeed recognized; for his courageous act of fighting the thieves, Kashiram received a sword as a gift from the Bombay government. He went on to live for several more years after this incident, ultimately passing away in Shake 1830.
