What happened to Kashiram after he survived the attack by thieves, and was he recognized for his bravery?

After regaining consciousness following the brutal attack, Kashiram's profound faith in Maharaj led him to refuse hospital treatment. As detailed in Chapter 0, he insisted on being taken to Shirdi. Once there, Madhavrao Deshpande treated him under Maharaj's instructions, and by Maharaj's grace, he fully recovered. In recognition of his courageous actions in fighting off the thieves, the Bombay government presented Kashiram with a sword as a gift. He lived for several more years after this event, ultimately passing away in Shake 1830.
