What happened to Haribhau Karnik in Nashik, and how did it relate to his visit to Shirdi?

📖 Chapter 33

The story of Haribhau Karnik, a devotee from Dahanu, is a profound illustration of Sai's omnipresence. According to Chapter 33, during a Guru Purnima visit to Shirdi in 1917, Karnik had a fleeting thought to go back up to the Dwarkamai and offer Baba one more Rupee after having already taken his leave. He dismissed the thought and proceeded on his journey. Later, while visiting the temple of Kala Rama in Nashik, he had an unexpected encounter with the saint Narsing Maharaj. In front of a crowd of devotees, Narsing Maharaj suddenly grabbed Karnik's wrist and demanded, 'Give my Rupee.' Karnik was amazed and joyfully gave the Rupee, feeling as if Sai himself was accepting the offering he had intended to give earlier.
