What happened in the days leading up to Sai Baba's Mahasamadhi?

According to Chapter 44 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra, Sai Baba was acutely aware that his end was near. In preparation, he arranged to have the Ramayana read to him by a Brahmin. He listened with intense, focused contemplation for a period of two weeks, or fourteen days and nights.
