What happened during the Sanyasi's second, unexpected visit to Dev's town, and how was his request different from the first time?

About a month after being told to return later, the Sanyasi made a surprise return to Dahanu. This second visit, described in Chapter 40, caused Dev some suspicion as it was much sooner than advised. This time, however, the Sanyasi's purpose was entirely different. Instead of asking for a donation for his cow protection work, he arrived around mealtime and explicitly stated, "I haven't come for money; today we want a meal." He also mentioned that he had two companions with him. Despite his initial doubts, Dev graciously agreed to host all three of them for a meal at his home.
