What happened during the merchant Ratanji's first meeting with Sai Baba?

The merchant Ratanji, deeply distressed over not having a son, was advised by Das Ganu to seek Sai Baba's help. Upon arriving in Shirdi, as described in Chapter 14, Ratanji went to the Masjid for Baba's darshan. Filled with love and reverence, he prostrated at Baba's feet, placed a flower garland around His neck, and offered a basket of fruits. Immediately after these offerings, Baba directly asked him, "What Dakshina (offering) will you give Me? Then you will be fulfilled." This interaction illustrates Baba's common practice of requesting Dakshina from all who sought his blessings, initiating a spiritual transaction of faith and surrender from the very first moment.
