What happened during the meal at Dev's Udyapan ceremony when the three uninvited guests arrived?

During the Udyapan ceremony, the Sanyasi (who was Sai Baba in disguise) arrived at noon with two companions, as he had been told to do by Dev earlier. According to the account in chapter 40, all three sat down to eat. The host, Dev, served them and his own family, and they were all "thoroughly satisfied by the meal." Despite personally serving them, Dev only saw them as ordinary guests who had come for a meal, and his mind remained in a state of delusion. After the meal concluded, all the proper rituals, such as sipping water and giving mouth fresheners, sandalwood paste, and perfumes, were respectfully offered to everyone, including the Sanyasi and his companions, before they departed.
