What happened during Sai Baba's three-day Samadhi in 1886, and who was instrumental in protecting him?

📖 Chapter 44

Thirty-two years before his final passing, on a full moon day, Sai Baba experienced an asthma attack and decided to enter a state of Samadhi for three days. As described in Chapter 44, he drew his life force into the crown of his head, and his body became motionless, with no breath or pulse. He instructed his followers not to wake him and pointed to a spot for his tomb. Baba specifically entrusted Mhalasapati with the task of guarding his body, telling him, "Do not leave me or neglect me for three days." While many villagers and officials believed Baba had passed away and prepared for his burial, Mhalasapati remained vigilant, guarding Baba's body day and night. His faith and wisdom are credited with averting what the text calls an "ill-fate," ensuring Baba's return to consciousness after the three days.
