What guidance does Chapter 16 offer on the proper conduct and attitude a disciple should have towards their Guru?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 16

Chapter 16 emphasizes that the most crucial thing a disciple can do is simply surrender themselves to the Sadguru. The text warns that any 'cleverness' (Chaturai) or even slight neglect in service can lead a seeker into trouble. Therefore, firm faith at the Guru's feet is an absolute necessity. A disciple should remain humble in the service of the Guru, as this is the path to attaining union with Brahman (Sayujya), while all other means may fail. The chapter beautifully states that since a disciple often doesn't know their own pitfalls, the Guru unknowingly provides the perfect remedy when the disciple is fully surrendered.
