What examples does the text give to illustrate the concept of Maya or worldly illusion?

📖 Chapter 50

Chapter 50 provides several vivid analogies to demonstrate the deceptive nature of Maya, noting that even the wise can be helpless before it. The text mentions how a rope can be mistaken for a snake, or how silver appears to be in a shell. Another example is the phenomenon of a mirage, which people see in the sun's rays. A particularly illustrative example is that of a lit firebrand (kolit) being whirled in a circle, creating the illusion of a 'circle of fire' (Agni-kankan). While the fire itself is real, the circle has no actual existence, which is how Maya produces a non-existent world.
