What does the story of Amir Shakkar's stay in the Chavadi teach about the nature of faith and obedience to the Guru?

📖 Chapter 22

The story of Amir Shakkar illustrates the principle of absolute faith in the Guru's word. Faced with a severe case of rheumatism, he received a seemingly illogical cure: to stay in a damp, dilapidated, and unhygienic Chavadi. As Chapter 22 narrates, despite the externally contrary conditions, Amir's 'internally certain faith' was the key. He accepted Baba's word as the true medicine and stayed there happily for nine months. This teaches that the Guru's instruction, however difficult or strange, should be accepted as the highest good, and that unwavering faith can overcome any physical hardship and lead to spiritual grace.
