What does the Shri Sai Satcharitra say causes a person to be trapped in the cycle of birth and death?

Chapter 37 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra explains that the root cause of being trapped in the eternal cycle of worldly existence, or Samsara, is the delusion of separateness. When a soul, deluded by ignorance, believes 'Parabrahman is different from me; I am not that, I am something else,' it creates a sense of difference and duality. This false knowledge of being separate from the ultimate reality is what subjects a person to the endless cycle where death follows birth and rebirth follows death.
