What does the Satcharita say about the qualities of a true devotee and the supreme importance of the Guru?

According to Chapter 49, a true devotee is defined as one who is completely devoid of ego and pride in their body. Conversely, someone who possesses the arrogance of knowledge and is an abode of hypocrisy does not deserve the title of 'Devotee.' The text places supreme importance on the Guru, stating that love for the Guru's feet is our only true wealth. It presents a hierarchy of spiritual practices, noting that meditation on one's own Guru is the greatest of all, surpassing even pilgrimages, sacrifices, and the singing of Hari's name.
